The Custom Commission
- Price
- $175
A flat cap made for you, to your size, from the fabric you choose or the fabric you bring.
Not every cap starts with a family garment. Sometimes you know exactly what you want: a particular tweed, a color that matches a coat you already own, a size the rack never has. Sometimes it's something only you would think of. One customer brought us a stack of purple Crown Royal bags; we pieced them into a cap with the gold script running across the crown and lined it in matching purple satin. The Custom Commission is that cap, cut and sewn by hand by Jeremy at our bench in Reedsport, Oregon.
Pricing
Custom caps start at $175 for the first cap and $150 for each additional cap in the same order. Final price depends on the fabric we land on together; we confirm it with you before any cut is made.
How it works
- Tell us what you have in mind. After you order, we'll reach out for your head measurement, the look you want, and any fabric you already have.
- We choose the fabric together. We'll send photos of what's on the bench, including wool remnants from the Pendleton Woolen Mill Store when we have them, and confirm your price.
- Jeremy makes. Every panel is cut and sewn by hand. Caps are lined, with silk or satin whenever the cap allows.
- Your cap arrives. Gift boxed, within 3 weeks of fabric confirmation.
Matching sets
Groomsmen, a father and sons, a crew. Order one cap here and add the rest with the additional cap option. We'll size each one separately.
Handmade in a coastal fishing town on the Oregon coast, the way flat caps have always been made: for working people, from fabric built to last.
